iPad 2

Monday, June 20, 2011

Reanne was disappointed that her ipad 2 cannot arrive on time for her boyfriend's 21st birthday celebration. She then brilliantly gave me this cake idea and hopes that the iPad cake can be used as a temporary replacement present. I think he will be more that delighted to see his ipad cake + a real ipad on the way....

My niece already gave me a standing order for this design for her next birthday. Small kids also know what is ipad :-p

Angry Birds + Longevity Buns

My best friend Nicole called me up one day asking me for ideas for her dad's 71st birthday celebration. One might wonder how come we end up doing Angry Birds theme for a 71 yrs old man..LOL!

Nicole and I thought, why not we do something out of his expectation. So, we decided on Angry Birds theme since this game is such a hit now and can give the grandchildren a chance to explain to Ah Kong haha. Maybe the kids can intro to Ah Kong the game and get him addicted to it as well...who knows!!!

At the same time, we also want to keep the chinese tradition of wishing our elder long and healthy life! So the "sao pao" is a must have item. It was indeed an awkward but meaningful combination one can thought off :-)

SpongeBob and Patrick

Before this, I thought the Yellow thingy is actually the sponge we use in the kitchen for washing hahaha. Yaaa yaaa...I'm what they called "Katak dibawah Tempurung" (translated to english is frog under the coconut shell) LOL!!. Just that I've never bother to learn more when people say Spongebob Spongebob...yaa I know the yellow sponge.

I had to do some research and obviously, I'd learned that they lived under the sea and the yellow sponge is actually a sea sponge. Wahh so clever! I didnt know got such thing called sea sponge until today hehe. Accompanying Spongebob is his best buddy Patrick Star (should be a starfish hehe). Hopefully, Oscar will love his birthday cake, a gift from Auntie Jie Ying.

Fathers' Day cum Birthday Celebration

May Lee ordered this special theme cupcakes for a 5-in-1 celebrations in her family. The 5 figurines represent - her father, her father-in-law, her hubby, her brother-in-law and last but not least her mother-in-law. You may be wondering why MIL is the odd one out here. The cuppies were meant for Fathers' Day celebration and her mother in law's birthday which falls on the same day. Hope the colourful cupcakes did bring some joy to the occasions!

Glory glory MU

Manchester United is one of the wealthiest and has the most supporters in the world. It has become a global brand with their fans going crazy over their jerseys and other merchandises. And now, the brand fever has spread over to cake. I think my latest MU design can become the ultimate favourite to the die hard MU fans out there!

Cutie Bear

The white and brown teddy bear are Rou Shuen's favourite toys. Her mummy ordered this special cake to celebrate her one year milestone. Happy Birthday Rou Shuen!

This was a special gift to her boyfriend. She told me the home represents some really special to both of them. Let me guess....could it mean she's ready to be "MRS ?" already??? *Hint* *hint*...hope her boyfriend get it lor hehe.

My honey's hobbies

This unique design was inspired by my customer. Each design represents the things that her boyfriend loves. Clearly, her bf loves to have some beer and smoke while watching his favourite team MU in game.

Earth Day 2011

April 22nd marked Earth Day 2011. This year Funbakez gets to be part of this meaningful campaign to create awareness and appreciation for our deteriorating environment. Intel HR, Malaysia team celebrated a belated Earth Day on 9th May by giving each team member a cupcake. The objectives was to invite their team member to be part of Earth day and to continue their efforts to create a clean, healthy and diverse world for generations to come!

Bid your farewell

Getting a farewell gift always gives me a headache. Common items like mug, photo frame and decorative display items have been long considered as "out of fashion". Food was not top of the list either as they are "digestible" and perishable, hehe then what's left to remember? Thanks to creative baking in the recent years, more and more people now choose to use cupcakes in replacement of a farewell gift. I believe a cute cupcake will definitely bring a smile or two to the receipient. And, that's a more valueable memories to bring home! Don't you agree with me? :-)

This was from a boss showing her appreciation to her staff on her final day!
